Everything on "Birdland" feels magical: twelve tracks shine like an endless summer. Flute tones shimmer over smooth keys, funky basslines, and bouncing percussion underpin luxurious horns, with Miami's clear vocals dancing elegantly.

Cutrock is a vinyl romantic with heart, eye, and touch, who loves tangible affection. He truly gets to know his records, takes them out multiple times, and knows what he's doing when he handles them, while you grope around Spotify for 10 seconds in the panties of random songs. The compact-muscular self-underrater with the sweet dimples keeps you at arm's length if you don't understand that you must love music for it to love you back."
20:00 Adi Gelbert
Adi Gelbart is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, composer, filmmaker and author. He llives in Berlin, where he’s constantly evolving his unique style of experimental pop, with influences that range from abstract musique concrète to jazz, new-wave and modern classical music. His lifelong obsession with creativity has so far resulted in more than 20 LPs and EPs of original music for electronics and chamber ensembles, numerous works of abstract and narrative animation, and most recently, a novel. A dive into Gelbart’s body of work uncovers a bizarre yet wholly consistent own world, a surrealist mirror-universe of sound and imagery that aims to combine the accessible with the complex. His music appeared on many record labels, the latest being Felix Kubin’s Gagarin Records.
21:00 Mieke Miami
Mieke Miami is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, and producer from Luckenwalde in Brandenburg. Inspired by the atmosphere of her surroundings and influenced by artists like Lester Young, Duke Ellington and Dorothy Ashby Mieke's music embodies a vivid picture of a polyphonic world.
After her beautifully intricate debut album "In the Old Forest" (2015), Mieke released the major, indeed pop album "Montecarlo Magic" in 2021 on the Berlin in-label Fun In The Church, which featured a cover version of "Cry Baby Cry" that became a real radio hit. Already here, a path could be seen: the trained saxophonist, who studied Jazz Saxophone at the University of the Arts in Berlin, increasingly brings together her two major concerns: songwriting and the world of jazz. This development continues on her current album "Birdland" – we hear an album of today and tomorrow, but also somehow from the year 1976. It breathes the spirit of the seventies. Not the virtuosic spirit of the late Weather Report, but the beautiful exploratory spirit of the early Weather Report. And a bit of Carla Bley and Yusef Lateef.
"And you wonder: what does Mieke Miami know that we don't?" (Süddeutsche Zeitung)
