PHASE 0: Stadtbad Tour
Kunststrom Laboratory
29 April 2023

Designed in 1928 by the famous Bauhaus architect Hans Hertlein, the historic Stadtbad was once a social, productive and cultural hub of Luckenwalde and has been empty for over 30 years. In the coming years, an interdisciplinary campus at the intersection of education, culture and energy will be created around the E-WERK and the historic Stadtbad. For the PHASE 0 project, the Kunststrom Laboratory is collecting memories and stories about the Stadtbad as well as opinions and suggestions about the planned campus development, which will be presented on 29 April 2023 through a tour designed together with Luckenwalde citizens. In the dialogue between citizens and politicians, a public process is created that clarifies urban development. The aim is to use artistic means to initiate a local process that stimulates and changes structures in the long term. The project is being developed in cooperation with the dramaturge Paul Marwitz and Rurbane Realitäten, an interdisciplinary office for innovative participation.
